Notes Client 6.0.1 Windows 2000


My problem is to show the pop up window for users with mailfiles on local on 6.0.1 Notes client.
I've seen on forum one solution to delete two lines from notes.ini: NewMailSeqNum.
I've deleted the specified lines from notes.ini and the pop up window for new mail appeared OK when I restarted the client.
But after that when I checked again notes.ini the 2 lines reappeared. That's the normal behaviour, so the two lines must be deleted every time I restart the Notes client?
